Guided hike to Alpe Nenzigast and a visit to Peter’s alpine dairy

The guided hike to the last alpine pasture in the Klostertal is one of the most special mountain experiences for anyone wishing to combine nature, alpine farming and traditional cheese-making. From Langen am Arlberg, we hike through the Nenzigasttal.

 

The walk takes us through a varied landscape where traditional alpine farming still plays an important role today. Along the way, there are frequent beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and insights into the unique features of the alpine habitat. Once we arrive at the alp, we’ll be treated to a short guided tour of the dairy. Shepherd and dairyman Peter provides insights into the traditional production of alpine cheese and shares interesting facts about life and work on the alp. An authentic insight into a centuries-old tradition that is still practised in the Klostertal today.​

The guided walk is suitable for families and anyone who would like to combine a leisurely walk with a special insight into alpine farming.

• Duration: approx. 3–4 hours

• Distance: 9 km, 581 m uphill, 581 m downhill

• Difficulty: easy, suitable for pushchairs
